I hope that I can effectively convey to your students my enjoyment of math and my passion for learning. My favorite teachers growing up were those who were knowledgeable and who seemed to sincerely enjoy what they taught. That is my goal this year. Math is fun, engaging, stimulating, and deeply important for our kids' development. I am truly excited to take this pre-algebra journey with the students of Vine this year.
7/8 History: Early America & Explorers

From the European Explorers to the beginning of the 19th century, we will cover all the major events in early American history. Discussions and class projects will help us to ask why we think these events in history happened and how it has shaped the United States we live in today.
7/8 Intro to Anatomy & Physiology
Mrs. McWilliams
Anatomy and Physiology is a challenging, complex, and exciting class. We will cover the structure of the body as well as how the body's various parts work together. We will use the Apologia Exploring Creation with Anatomy and Physiology curriculum. The text has 14 lessons which include comprehensive reading material on each subject, a variety of in-class activities, and study questions. The Anatomy Notebooking Journal is the companion to the textbook and provides students with a place to keep class notes, homework assignments, and in class activities organized.

Jr. High Bible (6th–8th Grade)
Mrs. Kastle
This class is meant to challenge the student to think in a world of mixed messages. The Word of God will stand the test of time and is much needed in each person's life. Each quarter will be a stand-alone unit. First quarter is “World View vs. Biblical View.” The book of Ecclesiastes will be our text as it offers insight into the life of King Solomon. Weekly homework and required reading will take no more than one hour per week. Students will be required to have their parents sign off on all incoming work, with bonus points when parents read with them.

5th–12th Theater
Mrs. Korjenek
Theater is a fun and engaging class. Theater runs the 2nd semester of the school year. This is Mrs. Korjenek's 3rd year with Vine's theater program. More details to come soon about our Spring show.
5th–12th Creative Art
Mrs. Fong
Creative Art is a mixed media art class that will create projects including 2D drawing and painting with the goal of teaching perspective, shading, and value. Other projects include mosaics, string art, silk painting, foil embossing, clay, and printmaking. There is a $75 supply fee (about $2 per week), which can be paid via Venmo to Peter-Fong-9, check, or cash on the first day of class.
