BJU Algebra 1 is a problem-solving course where students will learn the findamentals of algebra, including, but not limited to: evaluating algebraic equations - including multi-variable equations; graphing functions and relations; identifying, graphing, and writing linear equations; simplifying and factoring polynomials; graphing systems of inequalities; solving quadratic equations; analyzing probability data dn much more. Students will learn to analyze a problem, identify and apply the correct method for solving real-world problems.

Physical Science is a challenging, complex, and exciting class that covers concepts in chemistry, physics, earth science, and scientific research. We will use the Apologia Physical Science curriculum. The textbook has 15 modules, which include comprehensive reading material on each subject, in-class lab activities, study questions, and advanced concepts sections. The companion to the textbook is the Student Notebook, which provides students with a place to keep lecture notes, homework assignments, and lab reports in one organized place.

This class is a survey of the Romantic, Victorian and Modern Eras combining in-depth reading and analysis of classic texts with scripture and the Biblical theme of discernment. The class will require memorization of scripture, poetry and literary selections, as well as Greek and Latin based vocabulary study. Many captivating discussions and creative projects will encapsulate the timeless works of these legendary authors and poets! Besides the texts below, college ruled notebook and lined 3x5 cards are required. (Texts will be read in order listed)

Mrs. Korjenek

Theater is a fun and engaging class. Theater runs the 2nd semester of the school year. This is Mrs. Korjenek's 3rd year with Vine's theater program. More details to come soon about our Spring show.

5th–12th Creative Art
Mrs. Fong

Creative Art is a mixed media art class that will create projects including 2D drawing and painting that will teach perspective, shading, and value. Other projects include mosaics, wood burning, foil embossing, and printmaking (and more!).

 

There is a $75 supply fee for the year (about $2 per week), which can be paid via Venmo to Peter-Fong-9, check, or cash on the first day of class.

Materials Required:
  • Pencils

  • Pencil sharpener

  • Large eraser

  • Black pen

  • Black sharpie

  • Two paintbrushes (small @ 2 and medium @ 8, 10)

  • Water color paints

  • Ruler

  • Scissors

  • Tacky glue
